Hey gang – another sunny day with better wind and even bigger swells, perhaps the biggest we have ever sailed in, as some of them push 4 meters easy.
Still not a whole lot happening. I think we are starting to get anxious about arriving – in a sense that feels like ‘ok, we’ve done more than two weeks now, we know what the long passage feels like, and we can do it, now… we would just like to arrive, to change the routine if nothing else’.

Overnight things got a bit tense when the bigger winds rolled in. Gusting at 35, a steady 28-30 breeze settled in, arriving at just about 03.00 – on Lara’s watch, of course. We shortened sail and kept on riding it out. It stayed that way until just before this noonsite. Now it’s back down to the 22-26 knot range, with these huge rollers running. Pretty day though – can’t complain if not about the absence of seeing the whales!!!! I do so want to see some more.

SSB Radio contact continues to be very good with Friendship and Espumeru (wish I could get Anima Mare and Erasmus from time to time), and the emails from yesterday were great – we are happy to announce that we will be having friends visit in French Polynesia, is that cool or what? Looks like it will be Tahiti and Bora Bora, but we have to work out the detais. Very chic friends those are, to be visiting us in the ol Society Islands…

Have a great Thursday gang!
